Along Mariestad's 140 kilometre long coastline waits a delightful archipelago with tens of thousands of islands and islets. It's easy to find your own favourite place in Vänern here.

The guest port in Mariestad is a popular meeting place very close to centrum and nearly everything else. Old town with its nationally unique town center and cathedral lies just over Hamngatan. It's close to shopping, culture, and entertainment. In the guest harbour there's two restaurants and sheds where you can buy food, fika, and ice cream.

You'll also find a playground, adventure golf, beachvolley, boule, and kayak rentals. Nice promenade- and bike paths brings you along the lakeside northwards or westward to Ekudden's nature reserve.
